🔺 Magic Eight Ball. Apparently freshman Yves Missi wasn’t quite in the giving spirit just yet, well, at least on the court.
Missi was the key piece in a stifling defensive effort by the Baylor men’s team this weekend as the rookie posted his second career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while adding in four blocks as the Bears rolled to a 91-40 win over Northwestern State.
The 7-footer was the centerpiece of a stifling defense by Baylor (8-0) that held Northwestern State (1-7) to 25% shooting overall – the lowest by an opponent this season – and 5-of-24 from 3-point range. The Demons' 14 first-half points were the second-fewest in the Big 12 era (since 1996-97).
Once again, put their balanced offense on display with four players in double-figures, with Jalen Bridges (16 pts), RayJ Dennis (14 pts) and Ja’Kobe Walter (10 pts) all joining Missi in double-digit scoring.
🔺 Seventh Heaven. No, no, we’re not going to start talking about the start of Jessica Biel’s acting career.
That’s just what the BU women’s hoops team did on Sunday for the fans at the Ferrell Center as they rolled to a perfect 7-0 start with a dominant 71-51 win over visiting Oregon.
In a rematch of a classic 2019 Final Four semifinal, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs became the first Baylor player this year to lead the team in scoring twice, getting 18 points to go with six rebounds and two steals.
Aijha Blackwell had a double-double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and five steals, while Dre'Una Edwards had 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Baylor, which beat the Ducks, 72-67, en route to its third national championship, is off to its best start since that 2018-19 team won its first eight games.
There's just so much joy in this team. Can't wait to see what's next for the squad👊

🔺 Can’t Wait To See What’s To Come. Not a single senior on the roster.
Plenty of underclassmen playing heavy minutes.
And it still ended with an eighth straight NCAA Tournament and an eighth straight march into the second round.
The 23rd-ranked BU volleyball fell to #2 Kentucky on Friday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but the Bears return a LOADED roster and are primed for an exciting 2024 season.

Each of these student-athletes was nominated by a SACE team member based upon their embodiment of each of the four pillars.
For the month of November, Isaiah Dunson (football), Oskar Brostrom Poulsen (men's tennis), Jackie Addy (women's cross country) and Sophia Keene (volleyball) were selected for the honor.
🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA
With Sunday’s women’s basketball victory over Oregon, the BU hoops squad now sit at a combined 15-0 through the first month of the 2023-24 season.
How many Division I schools currently sit undefeated in both men’s and women’s basketball?
