alumni and fans across the state on the Texas Tour.
 
Fans can join Coach Aranda for an opportunity to learn more about the culture of excellence that Baylor football is developing and what fans can expect to see on the field this fall. The following dates and locations are listed below:
 
July 16 – Houston Texas Tour
July 18 – DFW Texas Tour
July 22 – San Antonio Texas Tour

⚾️ FUN IN THE SUN

A bear in the desert? That’s right!

On Monday, junior right-hander Mason Marriott was selected in the sixth round of the MLB Draft by the reigning National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks.

Marriott, the 194^th overall selection, becomes the 154^th Bear to be drafted all-time. BU has now had picks in 32 of the last 34 drafts, dating back to 1991. Marriott is the first Bear to be drafted under second-year head coach Mitch Thompson.
 
In 2024, the junior righty notched career highs with 69.2 innings pitched and 65 strikeouts while making all 14 of his scheduled starts. He added five saves in his rookie season in which he made 17 relief appearances, before becoming one of the more dependable weekend arms for Baylor in 2023 and 2024. Marriott finished his career without missing a start in two seasons as part of the weekend rotation.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 46 DAYS

Last year was one to remember for an all-time BU great as Jon Weeks
was named the 2023 Walter Camp Man of the Year nominee
for the Houston Texans.

Wearing #46, Weeks will be playing in his 15th becoming just the second Baylor alum to play in 15+ years in the NFL, joining only Matt Bryant
in that category.

🥎 WELCOME TO THE FAM

It’s been a busy offseason for the Baylor softball program as they look to build on last year’s Super Regional appearance.

This past week, Coach Moore and his staff added two new members to the family for next spring. UCF catcher Carson Frier and incoming freshman Averie Waddell inked to join the Green & Gold.

Frier comes to Waco with one year of eligibility left after spending the past three seasons in Orlando. Waddell joins Bear Country after a star-studded high school career in North Carolina.

🎟 YOU PICK IT!

This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.

The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.

The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games. 

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: NICK FLORENCE

On this week’s episode, we’re catching up with legendary
Baylor quarterback and fan favorite Nick Florence.

During his time behind center, Florence set Baylor’s single-game and
single-season passing yards records, while being named an All-American,
Big 12 Scholar Athlete of the Year, and a member of the All-Big 12 First Team.

Now, Florence remains an active member of the Waco community and
serves as the Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts here at his alma mater.
