🔺 Ain’t That Grand. Now that, that’s one way to return home!

Less than 30 minutes into the BU baseball 2024 home opener, Hunter Simmons stepped to the plate and truly made it grand.

Four batters into Tuesday’s home opener, Simmons launched a grand slam over the left field wall and helped set the tone as the Bears picked up win #1 of the season with an 11-5 defeat of Lamar.

It was one of three home runs hit by BU on the day, including one from Enzo Apodaca, who tied a career-high with four hits and drove in three RBIs.

🔺 Tuesday Night Tussle. Every.Single.Night.

It’s truly a battle every single time you take the court in this conference.

Tuesday night, it was another tight tussle for the 11th-ranked BU men’s hoops squad, and this time, the #25 BYU made just another shots down the stretch to defeat the Green & Gold, 78-71.

Jalen Bridges tallied a team-high 15 points to go with eight rebounds, one block and a steal. The Bears also got 13 points apiece from the freshman duo of Ja’Kobe Walter and Yves Missi.

🔺 Revenge On The Mind. It was 40 days ago that the BU women’s team sat as one of the few undefeated teams in the country heading into a trip to Fogg Allen Fieldhouse.

That night (Jan. 10th), the Jayhawks gave the Green & Gold their first loss of the season and tonight, the Bears are searching for revenge.

BU hosts its first back-to-back home games in a month when they tip off against red-hot Kansas tonight at Foster Pavilion at 7 pm. KU enters the contest winners of five straight.

The two teams both enter tonight’s matchup with identical 8-6 records in the Big 12 and sit in a three-way with Iowa State for fifth-place in the league.
