Nov. 8th Episode: What A Win Up North! Recapping MBB’s Win

The Baylor Men's basketball team was back in action with an electric game 1 victory against Auburn in South Dakota.

🔺 They’rreee Great. Stealing a line from Tony the Tiger, the Bears were great down the stretch when they needed it most against a talented Auburn squad.

Freshman Ja’Kobe Walter showed the entire country what he’s capable of, setting a Baylor program record for points in a collegiate debut with 28, including four three-pointers and a perfect 10-of-10 from the stripe.

But it was fellow newcomers Jayden Nunn, RayJ Dennis and Yves Missi that provided all the scoring in a late 11-0 run as the 20^th -ranked Bears erased a halftime deficit to take down Auburn, 88-82, Tuesday night in the season opener at the Sanford Pentagon.

🔺 Our Champions. At Baylor, it’s more than just wins and championships in competition. It’s about preparing Champions For Life.

Each month, BU’s Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE) selects four student-athletes as their Champions of the Month.

This award recognizes student-athletes who achieve their personal bests in the areas of academic achievement, athletic success, character formation and spiritual growth. Each of these student-athletes was nominated by a SACE team member based upon their embodiment of each of the four pillars.

Yaya Felder (women's basketball), Ava Colberg (soccer), Jackie Marshall (football) and Michael Allen (football) were recently selected as the October Champions of the Month.

🔺 Speaking Of Champions…. For three years, Cody Bradford anchored a spot in Baylor’s rotation.

The southpaw appeared in 32 games as a Bear, notching 12 wins and tossing 177+ innings, while striking out 139 during his career.

Four years after piling up those stats, the lefty anchored a different mound. This time it was on the biggest stage of them all as he posted a 1.17 postseason ERA to help the Texas Rangers hoist their first-ever World Series trophy.

Along one of Waco’s most respected drives, 15 minutes from Baylor, 10 minutes from Ridgewood Country Club and Lake Waco, sits this prominent community focal point.

With over 4800 sf feet in total with a fully equipped guest apartment included, on over an acre and a half - this Waco home is incomparable. Set back on the exceptionally large lot and peeking through hundred-year-old live oak trees, visitors are greeted by a distinguished wrought iron tracery and columns framing a southern French style front porch.

The entire estate has been meticulously restored, including electrical, plumbing, full finish out and more. In any major Texas city, this home would be unattainable and twice the expense. Here in Waco, it is one of the most prestigious and beautiful homes there is.
