🔼 In Good Company. It was quite a summer for BU track star Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi, competing against the world’s best at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Now “Zaza” (as he’s commonly known) is back to cap off his already star-studded career for the Bears.

This week, the javelin thrower was among 10 athletes nationwide to be named The Bowerman 2025 men's preseason watch list, announced by USTFCCCA.

The Bowerman is the highest honor bestowed to collegiate track and field's most outstanding athletes of the year. Nnamdi makes his career watch list debut and is the third Baylor man to do so, joining Trayvon Bromell (2014, 2015) and KC Lightfoot (2020, 2021).

Nnamdi’s teammates will open the indoor season tonight in College Station at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational

🔼 Desert Double Dip. With temps this cold outside, the Bears decided it’s best to travel to the desert.

Ok, that’s not exactly how it happened, but that’s what’s on the docket for the Baylor hoops squads as they take on a doubleheader in Temple with both teams facing Arizona State on Saturday.

The women’s squad get things started at 4:30, followed by the men taking on the Sun Devils at 8:30 pm.

🔼 The Butler Did It. The Butler. With A Basketball. In Philadelphia.

Ok, we know we’re not playing the board game, Clue, but that’s what took place on Wednesday night when former Baylor star Jared Butler had a career night with the Wizards, pouring in a career-best 26 points, along with seven assists and four rebounds for Washington.

He is the first player in franchise history to come off the bench to score 25+ points, dish out 7+ assists and shoot 100-percent from long range.

✍️ FROM OUR LEADER

It may be a new calendar year, but the goal of the Baylor athletic department remains the same.

As we enter a new year, Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades sat down to address the Baylor fam and give an outlook of what’s in store for the future of the Bears.
