🎥 COURT TALK WITH COACH WOODSON

The action is about to heat up on the hard courts as the Baylor men’s tennis squad kicked of their season on Sunday with a little doubleheader action at Hurd Tennis Center.

Prior to the opener, Baylor+ sat down for an exclusive interview with Coach Woodson to get a little insight on what’s ahead this spring for the Bears.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Workin’ Overtime. This might go down as the Josh Ojianwuna breakout game.

The big fella picked a great time for his fourth career double-double, finishing with 12 points and a career-high 17 rebounds to help the Baylor men’s hoops squad grind out a hard-fought 72-66 overtime win at Arizona State.

With a short-handed rotation of just seven guys, the Bears picked up their first road victory of the season to improve to 3-1 in the Big 12 and 11-4 overall.

Norchad Omier continued his outstanding season for BU, scoring 15 of his team-19 points in the second half and overtime, while VJ Edgecombe added 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.

🔼 All In. It takes everyone.

The Baylor women’s basketball team showed that on Saturday, with nine different Bears finding the scoring column en route to a dominant 78-59 road victory at Arizona State.

Veteran Sarah Andrews led the way with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Aliyah Matharu continues to get her feet underneath, scoring 14 points off the bench for BU.

Yaya Felder (13 pts), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (12 pts) and Aaronette Vonleh (12 pts) rounded out the five Bears in double-figures.

🔼 The Big 1-0-0. Nothing like starting the season with a couple sweeps and a big milestone!

The Baylor men’s tennis squad opened their 2025 season with back-to-back sweeps of Lamar and Abilene Christian, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at Hurd Tennis Center.

With the victory over ACU, Coach Woodson earned his 100th career head coaching victory, now sitting at 100-37 in his five seasons at Baylor.
