🎥 BAYLOR+: THE SIC 'EM POD

Entering his 25th season at the helm of the Baylor softball program,
Glenn Moore knows a thing or two about winning.

With over 900 victories as Bears head coach, Moore has seen a lot of his tenure in Waco and this year, he’s ready for more (no pun intended) as Baylor enters the 2025 season as one of the country’s top teams yet again.

In this week’s Sic ‘Em Pod, he sits down to talk about his coaching career
and preview the year ahead.

🔼 Saturday Afternoon Special. There’s been thousands and thousands of players who have played basketball at the Division I level.

So when you accomplish something that only 13 have EVER done, it’s a special one.

For Norchad Omier, that happened on Saturday in Utah as the grad transfer became just the 13th player in college basketball history to reach 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds in his career as he led the Baylor men’s hoops squad past Utah, 76-61.

Omier finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds for yet another double-double. VJ Edgecombe continued his hot streak with 21 points, while Robert Wright III was the third Bear in double-figures with 14 in the victory.

🔼 Power Pair. We are less than two weeks away from the return of Baylor softball and the excitement for the 2025 season is palpable.

On Friday, the leading duo of the Bears were honored as Shaylon Govan and Turiya Coleman were named to the 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 softball team.

This marks Govan and Coleman's second-straight All-Big 12 preseason honor of their careers.

🔼 Ridin’ High. The Bears took a ride up I-35 and came back with a W.

Coming off a week in which the Baylor men’s tennis team faced off against two top-5 opponents, the squad rode into Dallas and took down SMU yet again, defeating the Mustangs, 4-2.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Three.

Omier became just the third player in college basketball over the past 25 years to reach 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds joining Armando Bacot (UNC) and Kenneth Faried (Morehead State).

The last person to reach that milestone prior to the turn of the century was some guy named Tim Duncan, you might have heard of him.

🐻 Have a great week!
