🎥 BAYLOR+: JANA ON THE MIC

This is not the season that Jana Van Gytenbeek had envisioned
for herself, but the Colorado native is making the most of
her opportunities despite being sidelined by a season-long injury.

During a recent road trip, the Baylor women’s hoops star had a different perspective for the game as she put on the headset and joined Derek Smith as the color analyst.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Diaper Dandy. As Big 12 play nears the midway point, VJ Edgecombe is settling in quite nicely for the Baylor men’s hoops squad.

This past week, Edgecombe had a huge week for the Bears, piling up 51 points in BU’s two victories, including a 31-point showing against Kansas State.

With Baylor down to seven healthy players in the rotation, Edgecombe was forced to play 38 minutes a game last week but showed no ill effects. He piled up the points and did it efficiently, shooting 52% from the field and 54% from three in the two wins.

Across his last five games, the fabulous freshman averages 19.6 points per game and ranks in the top-5 of the league, notching 17.4 points per game in conference play.

🏀: Recapping Edgecombe’s Award-Winning Week

🔼 To The Wire. It may be early, but the Baylor women’s tennis squad is turning heads in the first few weeks of the 2025 season.

After sweeping Harvard to start the season, the Bears headed to Austin to compete in the ITA Indoor Regional this past weekend, rolling right past BYU in the opener to set up a Sunday showdown with 12th-ranked Texas.

BU gave the Longhorns all they could handle, but dropped a tough 4-3 match. The Bears are back at home to face another former conference foe, Nebraska, on Friday afternoon at the Hurd Tennis Center.

🎾: The Full 2025 Women’s Tennis Slate

🔼 Burger Boy. Incoming Baylor signee Tounde Yessoufou added another line in his growing list of accolades.

In the midst of a sensational final year of high school, Yessoufou was named a McDonald’s All-American on Monday.

Rated as a five-star prospect by ESPN out of St. Joseph High School in California, he is the No. 2 player in the State of California and the fifth-best small forward in the 2025 class.

With over 900 victories as Bears head coach, Moore has seen a lot of his tenure in Waco and this year, he’s ready for more (no pun intended) as Baylor enters the 2025 season as one of the country’s top teams yet again.
