It may be a new calendar year, but the goal of the Baylor athletic department remains the same.

As we enter a new year, Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades sat down to address the Baylor fam and give an outlook of what’s in store for the future of the Bears.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Lucky Number 13. Winning on the road in conference play is never easy.

It took every member of the BU women’s hoops team and even a little overtime on Wednesday night as the Bears grinded out a gutty 81-76 win over Arizona in Big 12 action.

Jada Walker led five BU players in double-figures with a 16-point, nine assist, six rebound performance, while Darianna Littlepage-Buggs added yet another double-double to her season, finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

With the victory, the Bears improve to 13-3 on the year and sit just a game back of the top spot in the league.

🔼 Young Gun. Earlier this week, two of the veteran standouts of the Baylor softball squad were recognized.

This time, it was a young gun.

Freshman Karynton Dawson was named to the Top-100 Incoming Freshman list by D1Softball on Wednesday.

The Beaumont, Texas native was the District MVP at Hardin Jefferson High School and has big expectations for her first year with the Bears.
