🔼 Nothing Like Home Cooking. Four years after lighting up high school fields all around Lubbock, Texas, Sawyer Robertson returned to his hometown and picked up where he left off.
The 2020 Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas, Robertson had a career day with five passing TDs to lead a dominant effort by the Baylor football squad who rolled to a 59-35 victory at Texas Tech, handing the Red Raiders just their second loss of the season.
Josh Cameron was one of Robertson’s main targets, finishing with six catches for 75 yards and three TDs, while also putting together a 73-yard punt return to put Baylor inside the 1-yard line.
Redshirt freshman Bryson Washington had a career-high 116 yards and two TDs as well for the Bears, who scored their highest point total since 2022.
🔼 World Series Bound! The biggest stage in Major League Baseball is set and for the third time in the past five years, the Bears will be a part of it.
Baylor Athletics Hall of Famer Max Muncy and his Dodgers teammates completed the series victory in the National League Championship Series on Sunday night, defeating the Mets in Game 6 and punching a ticket to the 2024 World Series.
Muncy has three HRs and five RBIs, along with an on-base percentage of .468 during the 2024 playoffs.
Game 1 against the Dodgers is set Friday night on FOX.
🔼 Paydirt Across the Pond. After battling injuries and fighting for time, former Baylor star JaMycal Hasty returned to the endzone for the first time since 2022 on Sunday.
Hasty and his Patriot teammates traveled to London to battle the Jaguars earlier on Sunday, and although his team lost, Hasty caught a 16-yard TD pass from Drake Maye in the first quarter to give New England an early 7-0 lead.
It’s the Hasty’s first TD since 2022 when he scored during his two-year stint with the Jaguars and sixth TD of his six year careeer.
