🐻 And more!

🔼 Next Steps. Athletics Director Doug McNamee has shared Baylor’s plans for the football program following its leadership change. Joe Klanderman will guide the Bears through the remainder of the season while the head coaching search proceeds, with McNamee indicating a new hire likely won’t be named until December. He also called on the Baylor Family to support the team at Homecoming against Iowa State on Nov. 7.

🔼 Message To Fans. Baylor interim head football coach Joe Klanderman met with media yesterday to address fans and discuss the state of the program. Click here to watch the weekly press conference!

🔼 Bear Necessity. A familiar voice behind home plate is getting some well-earned recognition! Baylor softball selected Dr. Alan Lefever for the Tori Birk-Luke Bear Award, which honors a fan whose support goes beyond the ordinary. Lefever and his wife, Sara, have long supported Baylor Athletics, and his presence has become part of the Getterman Stadium experience.

🔼 Man For All Seasons. From Baylor basketball walk-on to oral surgeon, lawyer, Waco mayor, and Texas state senator, David Sibley has built quite the resume. This year’s Baylor Athletics Wall of Honor honoree spent 16 years at Baylor earning three degrees and completing an oral surgery residency. His story traces a lifelong connection to the university, starting with a tryout that became a scholarship opportunity.

This week on the Sic ’Em Podcast, Baylor football’s Jacob Redding joins us to talk about his journey through injury, his experience this season, and the role his faith has played along the way.

Before his career in public service, David Sibley helped Baylor’s freshman basketball team win a conference championship in 1967.
