🔼 Three Takeaways. Head coach Dave Aranda met with the media on Monday to recap the weekend and look ahead to Saturday’s Homecoming game. Here are Jerry Hill’s three takeaways:
First-Time Starter: Redshirt sophomore Sean Thompkins made his first career start at left tackle, replacing Sidney Fugar. Coach Aranda praised Thompkins’ performance, highlighting it as a bright spot for the offense.
Fighting Through The Fog: Aranda acknowledges the Bears’ recent struggles, attributing them to frustration. He emphasizes the need to intentionally overcome this “fog” and believes the team is on the right path.
Grinch Has An ‘Itching’: UCF defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, known for his disruptive defensive schemes, may increase his use of line movement and blitzes following the departure of Baylor offensive line coach Mason Miller.

🔼 On Guard. Baylor women’s basketball guard Taliah Scott was named to the 2025-26 Preseason Watch List for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award. The redshirt sophomore, who averaged 20.3 points per game through three games at Auburn, is among the top 20 shooting guards in the country. In her 2023-24 season at Arkansas, she record 19 double-digit scoring games with a career-high of 34 points in a game.

🔼 Young Warrior. Baylor volleyball freshman Bailey Warren was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week after a career-high 27 kills in the win over No. 17 BYU. Warren joins fellow freshmen Ksenia Rakhmanchick and Morgan Madison as Rookie of the Week winners this season.
The 18th-ranked volleyball team plays at Iowa State tonight at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.

🔼 Back-To-Back. Women’s golfer Yurang Li won her second-straight event to lead the No. 15 Bears to a second-place finish in the Bear Brawl! Malena Castro finished fourth at even-par. The Bears will return to the course in January.
