🔼 Cat Tamers. Sometimes you have to start inside and work your way out.

That’s exactly what the Baylor women’s hoops squad did on Tuesday, fighting their way to a 73-62 win over Villanova in the third-place game at the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Aaronette Vonleh posted a season-high 19 points, while Sarah Andrews added three 3-pointers en route to 15 points to provide the outside presence to Vonleh on the inside.

The Bears dominated the battle of the boards, 42-25, shot a sizzling 58.7% from the floor and outscored the Wildcats, 40-12, in the paint.

🔼 Cat Tamers. With several weeks left in her collegiate career, Elise McGhee now has some travel plans for after the new year.

On Monday, McGhee became the first Bear ever selected in the young Pro Volleyball Federation league when she was a fifth-round selection by the San Diego Mojo.

In July, the Mojo signed former Baylor Bear Lauren Harrison for the 2025 season as well.

She is the first Baylor player to be drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation, as Shelly Fanning was signed to the Atlanta Vibe in May 2023 and Yossiana Pressley was signed to the Omaha Supernovas in June 2023, to be claimed off waivers by the Vibe in January 2024.

🔼 Island Man. Baylor men’s hoops senior Norchad Omier enjoys life on the island apparently.

Facing off against back-to-back ranked opponents, Omier averaged 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears to earn Big 12 Conference Player of the Week accolades.

Playing at the Baha Mar Bahamas Championship for the second-straight year, Omier earned his way onto the all-tournament team, upping his NCAA-leading career double-double count to 72 in the process.
