🔼 Double Dippin’. Coming off a dramatic win over rival TCU this past weekend, the Baylor football team went double dippin’ for the Big 12 weekly awards.

Redshirt junior kicker Isaiah Hankins and redshirt freshman Bryson Washington have earned Co-Big 12 Players of the Week accolades on Monday

Hankins split Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors with Houston punter Liam Dougherty, while Washington shared Big 12 Newcomer of the Week praise with Houston quarterback Zeon Chriss.

🔼 Sluggin’ Shea. 2024 was a career year for former Bear Shea Langeliers, posting career-highs in home runs (29), RBIs (80), batting average (.224) and OPS (.739).

That work didn’t go unnoticed as he was announced among three finalists for the American League Silver Slugger Award at the catching position. The award goes to the best offensive player at each position in each league.

It is the first time in his three MLB seasons that Langeliers has been named a finalist for the award.

🔼 Horsin’ Around. Volleyball and football weren’t the only ones who brought home big wins over the weekend.

The Baylor equestrian squad was the kick starter for it all, pulling off a 12-8 victory over #6 Fresno State in the home opener for the Bears.

The Most Outstanding Performer awards went to BU's Madison Mitchell in Flat, Alexis Rutledge in Horsemanship and Emily Moomaw in Reining.

🔼 Opening Act. In the only matchup of top-10 teams on opening night in college hoops, the sixth-ranked Bulldogs of Gonzaga got off to a fast start and defeated the eight-ranked Bears, 101-63.

Miami transfer Norchad Omier and freshman Robert Wright led eighth-ranked Baylor with 15 and 12 points, respectively, and combined for nine points in a 16-4 second-half run that got Baylor back within 59-46 with 13:34 to go in the game.
