šŗ Reunited And It Feels So Good. A little over four years ago, Shelly Fanning and Yossiana Pressley were a part of history during their time at Baylor.
The duo was critical to the success of the 2019 Bears volleyball squad, who earned the programās first-ever Big 12 title, a #1 ranking and a berth in the NCAA semifinals.
Now, the pair have reunited and will be a part of the Pro Volleyball Federationās inaugural season in 2024. Fanning and Pressley will both be a part of the Atlanta Vibe roster after Pressley signed with the club this week.
šŗ Oh Captain, My Captain. The leadership of Sarah Andrews has been on display all season long as the BU womenās squad vaulted into a top-10 ranking and have battled amongst the best teams in the country.
This week, the veteran guard was recognized for her success with a spot in The Nancy Lieberman Top 10 Watch List.
Now in its 25th year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman.
The Irving, Texas, native has reached double-figure scoring 13 times this season and is averaging 12.2 points per game. Andrews has connected on a team-best 45 from behind the 3-point arc and she ranks second on the team with 65 assists.
š NEW SIC āEM POD: SARAH ANDREWS
Every great team needs a leader, and thatās what Sarah Andrews is for Baylor Womenās Basketball. And sheās one of the best in the country, evidenced by this weekās newest honor for the veteran guard.
From the time she was just 4-years-old, to being a top high school recruit in the country, Sarah Andrews has never been afraid of the competition on the court.
Now, in her senior season, Sarah couldnāt be more focused on the task at hand. Sarah Andrews is a winner, a leader, one of the most dangerous scorers in the country, and is the engine that makes Baylor Womenās Basketball go.
š¤ SIC āEM TRIVIA
Sarah Andrews has been a pillar at Baylor and a critical piece of the Bearsā success over the past four seasons.
In her career, sheās knocked down 209 3-pointers. Where does that rank all-time in program history?
