Baylor Brew 2/20: Seven UP!
19th-Ranked Bears Roll Past Colorado On The Road For Seventh Straight Victory

🐻The Official Daily Newsletter For Baylor Athletics
Happy Thursday Bear Country. The Rocky Mountains isn’t exactly the warmest place this time of year, but that didn’t cool off the red-hot Baylor women’s hoops squad on Wednesday night!
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🐻 And much, much more!
🎥 BAYLOR+: COURT IS IN SESSION
Did you know that the current Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week
arrived at Baylor as a walk-on outfielder?
That’s the kind of knowledge you find out when you’re following the Sic ‘Em Pod, which features a sit-down with Ethan Calder, who kicked off the 2025 season in a major way, striking out 13 batters in Baylor’s season-opening win against Youngstown State.
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Seven UP! Walking into a place that the home team has won 10 straight is never easy. Doing so without one of your best players makes it even more difficult.
But that didn’t stop the 19th-ranked Baylor women’s hoops team from picking up a seventh straight win with a dominant 84-62 defeat of Colorado on Wednesday night.
Junior Bella Fontleroy scored 20+ points for the second time in sixth games, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds, while knocking down six 3-pointers on the night. After going out early with an ankle injury, Jada Walker returned to the court with a huge game, scoring 17 points and dishing out six assists on the night.
BU will now enter the final three regular season games with destiny in their hands, playing the other two teams atop the Big 12 standings with a regular season conference title within reach.

🔼 Young Gun. The present for the top-ranked Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling squad is pretty bright. The future appears even brighter.
This week, freshman Leavy McDonald earned her first weekly honor from the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA), being named Freshman of the Week.
Jordan Gruendler was also named Honorable Mention Athlete of the Week while Payton Washington was named Honorable Mention Specialist of the Week.
McDonald, a redshirt freshman base from San Antonio, earns the award after posting scores of 9.9 or above in all four heats she based in the win against No. 14 LIU. She is the only freshman base for the Bears outside of Team Event.

🔼 California Dreamin’. With the temps dropping into the low-30s, the Baylor softball team isn’t the only ones California dreamin’ this week.
The Bears hit the road for a big challenge in Palm Springs at the annual Mary Nutter Classic. Awaiting Baylor is five challenging matchups, including four against Power 4 foes and three coming against teams ranked in this week’s top-15 nationally.
The weekend starts today for BU, who takes on Nevada (12pm) and Nebraska (4pm) this afternoon in Cali.
AND THAT’S A WRAP! Houston, you made this season of Feed 5 More unforgettable! You teamed up with @JalenPitre1 to fund over 37,000 free, healthy meals AND shine a spotlight on childhood hunger across our city.

🔼 Helping Hands. One look into the impact that Jalen Pitre has had in the Houston community and beyond, there’s no surprise he was the Texans’ Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.
Along with countless endeavors to help those around him, the former Baylor standout teamed with Kids Meals, Inc. in Houston to provide nearly 40,000 children in the Houston area with free, healthy meals.
Well done Jalen!
🎥 BAYLOR+: MAN WITH A MESSAGE
Tweety Carter will forever be a Baylor legend
for what he accomplished on the court.
But now, he’s making an even greater impact as a coach and
mentor to the current Bears, no greater example than this
powerful chapel he delivered to the guys earlier this season.
