🏈 SAVE THE DATE

Last year, the Baylor football team raised the bar, finishing the regular season
as one of the nation’s hottest teams and making yet another trip to a bowl game, earning a spot at the Kinder’s Texas Bowl.

BU will play seven games at McLane Stadium and have two idle weeks,
while hitting the road for four conference games and a non-conference
matchup up the road in Dallas at SMU.
 
Nationally, only Baylor and TCU will play 11
power-4 opponents as part of their 2025 schedules.

🔼 Wire To Wire. Now that’s how you start a spring season!

The Baylor women’s golf squad capped off an impressive week on Tuesday, capturing the PDI Intercollegiate title on Monday in Orlando, Fla., finishing the event at 30-under, the second-lowest score relative to par in program history.

Silje Ohma shot a 10-under 206 to finish 2nd, The best finish of her career in a Division I event, followed closely by Sera Hasegawa, who finished tied for 11th with a 7-under 209. Kansas' Lauren Clark won the event by five shots with a 15-under 201.

🔼 Turning Heads. After averaging over 22 points a game over the past five outings, VJ Edgecombe continued to turn heads and this week was named as one of 10 players named to the Jerry West Award Mid-Season Top 10.
 
Named to the preseason watch list as well, the fabulous freshman has lived up to his billing, averaging 14.9 points per game, upping that number to 18.1 points per game in Big 12 play. Playing extended minutes due to a shortened rotation, Edgecombe has shown no ill effects, raising his average from 11.7 points per game to 14.9 points per game in the nine games Baylor has been forced to play with a short bench.

The last Bear to be named a finalist for the award was Adam Flagler in 2023, as was MaCio Teague in 2021.

There’s no place like home.

For former National Champion and nine-time Big 12 title winner, Aaliyah Miller,
that home is in Waco as the former Bear is now back with BU in
a little bit of a different capacity.

Earlier this month, head coach Michael Ford announced the addition of Miller to his coaching staff for the 2025 season. This week, she sat down as a guest of the Sic ‘Em Pod to talk about her career and her new role with the Bears.
