On this episode of the Sic ’Em Podcast, we sit down with new quarterback DJ Lagway as he begins his journey at Baylor. The dynamic quarterback opens up about his decision to come to Waco, the mindset he brings to the program, and what Baylor fans can expect from him on and off the field. From his early football roots to embracing the pressure and opportunity of leading a new era, Lagway shares insight into his leadership style, work ethic, and goals for the season ahead.

🔼 Owned It. Baylor’s Devin Badenhorst, ranked No. 14 in singles, was named Big 12 Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. He won both his matches last week, defeating top-ranked opponents at Arizona and Arizona State.

The No. 8 men’s tennis team will play at Oklahoma State tonight at 5 p.m.

🔼 Jump Around. Baylor equestrian Jumping Seat senior Lauren Jorgensen was named the Arion Sellier Fences and Flat Rider of the Month by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association. Jorgensen finished the regular season with a perfect 6-0 conference record in Fences and holds the second-highest program record for season score average in Fences.

🔼 Lifetime Achievement. Doug Smith, a retired fundraising professional with nearly 50 years of experience, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Association of Athletic Development Directors. Smith, who spent 22 years at Baylor, is recognized for his significant contributions to athletics fundraising, including growing the Bear Foundation’s giving total to a record $12.7 million. He will be honored alongside Rising Star Award winner Jordan Burbank at the NACDA Convention in June.
