Mitchell On A Tear With Miami In Final Weeks of NBA Season

🐻The Official Daily Newsletter For Baylor Athletics
TGIF Baylor Fam. You know the old school NBA Jam video game and the classic “He’s Heating Up” line form the announcer?
If former Bear Davion Mitchell was playing in that game, the saying would hold true for him.
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🔼 Closing Out In Style. The red-hot Baylor men’s tennis team closed out their home regular season slate in style on Thursday evening, sweeping their way past Texas Tech, 4-0, for their seventh straight victory.
With the win, the Bears now improve to 21-8 on the season and set up a monster showdown in Fort Worth on Sunday when they travel to take on #2 TCU with the Big 12 regular season crown on the line.

🔼 On A Heater. We’d have to say Davion Mitchell is quite happy in his new home.
Just a few weeks into his time with the Miami Heat, the former Baylor standout has been terrific.
In the past five games, he’s averaging 14.6 points, 7.2 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game in nearly 37 minutes a night.
With only two regular season games remaining, Miami is already locked into the playoffs, but could move up to as high as the eighth seed with victories in the final two.

🔼 No Horsin’ Around. There was certainly no horsin’ around when it came to the classroom for the Baylor equestrian squad.
On Thursday, the Bears garnered 47 selections to the 2025 National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) APHA All-Academic Teams and Academic Honor Roll.
This is the most honorees Baylor has had since 2021.
Riley Cachat, Juliette Early, Lauren Jorgensen, Madison Mitchell, Emily Moomaw, Kalena Reynolds, Taylor Smith and Nadalee Vasquez were all named to the APHA All-Academic First Team, while Bella Hehr, Gianna Pozzi, Alexis Rutledge and Lauren Stebbins earned spots on the second team.
Additionally, Emma Covarrubias, Sadie Peters, Lauren Reid and Anna Thron earned spots on the Honorable Mention list while 31 athletes earned spots on the NCEA All-Academic Honor Roll.
🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

With their current seven match win streak, the 13th-ranked Baylor men’s tennis team reached yet another 20+ win season.
