📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Tourney Time. No busier place to be this weekend than Hurd Tennis Center, who is set to host the Big 12 Tennis Championships, which is fully underway after the women’s opening round on Wednesday.

Both Baylor squads are slated to open up their action tomorrow with the women set to open quarterfinal action at 1 pm, while the men take on Arizona State at 4 pm.

🎾 Big 12 Tournament Central

🔼 Lockin’ Em Up. With his season on the line, former Baylor standout Davion Mitchell did what Davion always does, locks them up.

Mitchell was outstanding for the Miami Heat in Wednesday’s play-in game in Chicago, pouring in 15 points on 5-of-5 from the floor and dishing out nine assists, all while leading the Heat’s defensive efforts that limited the Bulls’ leading scorer, Coby White, to just 5-of-20 from the field.

The Heat now move on to play in Atlanta on Friday night to earn a berth in the first round of the NBA playoffs this weekend.

🔼 Showin’ Out. One program that’s already brought in hardware of their own is the Baylor spirit squads.

This past weekend at NCA Championships in Daytona Beach, the teams brought home top SEVEN top-five finishes, including being crown National Champions in the mascot and Coed Spirit Showdown-Gameday divisions.

Great job Bears!

🔼 Save The Date. Start plugging them in now!

The Baylor soccer squad announced its 2025 slate on Wednesday, with a loaded slate of 18 games, including eight home games at Betty Lou Mays Field.

A challenging regular season slate will tune up the Bears for the 2025 Big 12 Tournament, which will feature eight teams this season and begin with Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds hosted by TCU, before the Championship match is played in Waco at Betty Lou Mays Field. Championship action will open on Nov. 3 and conclude on Nov. 8.

🔼 Staying Home. One of our own is staying home.

Well, it’s still three hours away, but former Baylor standout Jalen Pitre is staying in Texas as the standout safety recently signed a three-year extension with the Houston Texans.

Ever since he stepped on the field in the NFL, Pitre has been a force, racking up nearly 300 tackles in 44 games with Houston, before missing the end of last year with a season-ending injury. The former Bear has six career INTs and 21 pass breakups in those 44 starts.

She may be over 5,000 miles from home, but Waco has provided Baylor
women’s tennis star Zuzanna Kubacha with a second home as the
Poland native is a rising star with the 23rd-ranked Bears.
