🔼 She’s A Real (All) American. Senior rider Alexis Rutledge ended her career with the Baylor equestrian squad on a high note this week.
On Tuesday, Rutledge was named an Ariat NCEA First Team All-American.
The Altoona, Iowa, native earned First Team All-America honors in Horsemanship after an undefeated season in conference play at 6-0 and going 10-2 on the season overall, earning three MOPs in her event.
Rutledge is the first Bear to be named as such for Horsemanship since the 2022 season and is just the ninth different rider to earn the accolade in the event for Baylor. She is also the third rider for BU to earn First Team honors for Horsemanship.

🔼 Ok Shay, We Se You. When your squad picks up the first Big 12 sweep of the season, there’s going to be some accolades heading your way.
For the Baylor softball program, it was senior slugger Shaylon Govan, who was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Govan hit .571 in BU's three-game conference series sweep over Houston last weekend. She totaled four hits while drawing four walks, with a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .727 on base percentage. She currently boasts an 18-game on-base streak and is four walks away from tying a Baylor career record in walks.
Govan currently leads the Big 12 in conference games in walks (34) and on base percentage (.602). The infielder is also ranked fifth nationally in on-base percentage and ninth in walks per game.

🔼 Shining In The Desert. The sun wasn’t the only thing shining during the Baylor women’s tennis team’s trip to the desert this past weekend.
After going 2-0 in doubles action and 1-0 in singles, Cristina Tiglea was named Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week as she helped the 23rd-ranked Bears to a undefeated trip through the The Grand Canyon State.
