🔼 Award Season. Sure, Hollywood may celebrate award season early in the year, but for the Baylor tennis squad, award season is open for business.
On Wednesday, the Bears piled home a slew of accolades with the unveiling of the Big 12 yearly honors.
For the men, BU had five student-athletes earn All-Big 12 accolaes.
Graduate transfer Alexandru Chirita was named the 2025 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, becoming the first Bear to win the award since Charlie Broom in 2021. Additionally, Devin Badenhorst and Zsombor Velcz were named on the First Team Singles list, both earning first team honors in their careers. On the First Team Doubles, the duos of Oskar Brostrom Poulsen/Marko Miladinovic and Badenhorst/Luc Koenig earned spots.
On the women’s side, Baylor earned four honors.
Na Dong was recognized as the Newcomer of the Year with a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Singles Team with Liubov Kostenko, while Kostenko and Cristina Tiglea received a First Team Doubles nod.

🔼 Fresh Faces. The upcoming 2025 Baylor football season is getting closer and closer and expectations continue to grow for the Bears.
This week, Coach Aranda and staff added two more fresh faces with the signing of transfers Caldra Williford (Tennessee Tech) and Adonis Friloux (Tulane).
Williford is a veteran defensive back that played last year at Tennesse Tech after spending two seasons at Murray State. He racked up 50+ tackles, three INTs and a forced fumble over the past two years.
Friloux was a force on the defensive line for the Green Wave, playing in 37 games over the past four years, piling up 62 tackles, 6.5 for a loss and 4.5 sacks.

🔼 Worldwide Winning. It may be a few years since she donned the Baylor jersey, but she’s still reppin’ the Bears.
Former BU volleyball standout Aniah Palmer (Philo) was a critical part of the Puijo Wolley club claiming the Finnish League Championship this past weekend.
🎥 BAYLOR+: THE SIC ‘EM POD

The Baylor women’s tennis team is headed back to
the NCAA Tournament after a stellar spring season, which included a
top-25 ranking for much of the year.
Helping lead the Bears has been new transfer Kennedy Gibbs, a Texas native who returned to her home state after spending her first two collegiate seasons at Purdue.
This week, Kennedy stopped by the Sic ‘Em Pod to talk about her journey and what
it means to be a part of the Baylor program.
🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA
