š¼ One Step Away. Tonight in the āWorldās Most Famous Arenaā, former Baylor standout Jeremy Sochan and the New York Knicks take the floor for the 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
Sochan is looking to help lead New York back to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
The former Baylor standout was traded from San Antonio midseason and has played in five of the Knicksā playoff games so far this season.
š¼ Teeinā It Up. 18 down. 36 to go.
Senior Jonas Appel is looking to punch a ticket back home as the Baylor menās golf standout is one round into the NCAA Bryan Regional.
The California native is looking to move up the leaderboard over the next two rounds and earn a berth at the NCAA Championships, which is set to be played at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif, which is āright in Appelās backyardā.
š¼ Academic Ace. Baylor menās tennis standout Alexandru Chirita wasnāt just serving up aces on the court this spring. This week, Chirita was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The Romania native recently earned his graduate degree from Baylor in Sport Pedagogy, finishing with a 3.61 GPA. On the court, Chirita contributed to Baylor's stellar 2026 spring season, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2022.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Women's Tennis teams, selected by CSC members, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions ā NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
