For the first time since 2022, the Baylor baseball program is headed back to the Big 12 Championship.
The Bears will be the #10 seed in this week’s tournament at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
BU will face No. 7-seed Oklahoma State at 4 p.m. today, with the winner advancing to face No. 2-seed Kansas in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 22, at 4 p.m. Both games will be televised on ESPNU and available via ESPN+.
🎥 BAYLOR+: SENIOR SALUTE
The Baylor baseball squad has reached new heights in 2025 and a big part of that success is a senior class that helped rebuild the foundation of the program.
Coach Thompson sat down to talk about what the senior class has meant to him, the program and the University.

🔼 Not Missi(n) Around. It was quite a first season in the NBA for former Baylor star Yves Missi.
Selected 21st overall in last year’s draft, Missi ranked among the best rebounders and shot blockers, not just as a rookie, but in the league in general.
Missi contributed to a much greater degree than the majority of the players picked in the 20 spots before him on draft night, finishing ninth in scoring (9.1 ppg), second in rebounding (8.2 rpg) and third in blocks (1.3 bpg) among first-year pros (minimum 50 games played for all categories).

🔼 Awards Season. Before first pitch arrives in Arlington today, the Bears are already coming home with some hardware.
Senior right-hander pitcher Gabe Craig and senior infielder Tyriq Kemp were named to the All-Big 12 First Team, while freshman infielder Pearson Riebock and redshirt sophomore infielder Travis Sanders both picked up honorable mention recognition.
The four Bears each collected their first-career all-conference honors, as BU landed two members on the first team for the first time since the 2021 season. Additionally, Riebock was named to the All-Freshman Team as one of the top-12 rookies in the league, becoming Baylor's first representative since 2023 and the 14th selection in program history.

🔼 That’s Some Major News. He had so much fun last week, he figured he’d try it again!
After competing in his first major at last weekend’s PGA Championship in Charlotte, Johnny Keefer followed it up by winning a seven-way playoff hole and qualifying in the 2025 US Open at Oakmont later this year.

🔼 Country’s Finest. Representing your country is something very few athletes have the opportunity to enjoy.
For Baylor volleyball alumna Lauren Briseño, she’s enjoyed it so much, she’s doing it yet again.
Late Monday, the former Bear was selected to the 2025 Women's U23 National Team for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup.
Briseño and 17 other athletes will train at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif., from July 18-25. From that pool, 12 athletes will be chosen to represent the United States in Leon, Mexico, for the Pan American Cup from July 25-August 2.
This selection comes after she was chosen for the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) wide roster by USAVB. She has been training in Anaheim with USAVB since that announcement on May 8.
