🔼 And The Award Goes To…. Award season may come in January and February for Hollywood, but the real red carpet doesn’t happen until the Golden Bruisers!
One of the best nights of the year for Baylor Athletics took place last night as the Bears hosted their annual Golden Bruisers Awards Show for all of their athletic programs.
The men’s tennis squad took home the award for best male team, while the acrobatics & tumbling squad won the best female team honor. Individually, Sawyer Robertson and Alexis Brown took home the male and female student-athlete of the year accolades.

🔼 In The Hunt. Two rounds down, one to go.
The Baylor women’s golf squad sit right in the hunt for a spot in the NCAA Championships after sitting in fourth place after the first two rounds at the NCAA Regionals in Norman.
BU is four shots behind third-place Michigan State with a one-shot cushion on the projected cutline, which stands at +2 with 18 holes to play. Tulsa and North Carolina sit at +2, with host Oklahoma one shot behind them at 3-over in seventh place.
At the conclusion of 54 holes, the top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, with all ties broken.
Baylor's Silje Ohma shot a 4-under 140, one of three players that stand one shot behind the overnight co-leaders Hsin Tai Lin and Ashley Yun of Northwestern.

🔼 Record Breakers. Welp, that’s one way to close out the regular season.
The Baylor track & field squad did so in record-breaking style, bringing home two program records and seven meet records at the outdoor regular season finale at the Alumni Muster in College Station.
Both running and field events caught new program records with freshman phenom Igor Olaru shattering the record twice and earning gold with his 217-10 mark in the hammer throw, while junior Tiriah Kelley ran a collegiate wind legal time of 22.34 (3.5 m/s) in the 200m.

🔼 Tourney Time. It’s Big 12 Tourney week!
That’s right, the Baylor softball team will head to Oklahoma City this week to begin their quest for a Big 12 title.
Entering tomorrow’s opening round action, the Bears are the eighth seed in the championship, set to take on ninth-seeded Kansas at 2:30 in the first game of the event.
🎥 BAYLOR+: ALL NEW SIC ‘EM POD
It was a great spring for the Baylor men’s tennis team, ranking in
the top-20 nationally for most of the spring season and earning a spot in the NCAA Second Round before dropping a tough match on Sunday to #16 Texas A&M.
One of the Bears’ leaders all spring was Zsombor Velcz, who stopped by
the Sic ‘Em Pod this past week to talk about his journey to Waco.
