As Baylor men’s tennis prepares to host the NCAA Sweet 16 in Waco, Head Coach Mike Woodson sits down to preview the Bears’ biggest home match of the season. Woodson breaks down the team’s mindset, the advantage of competing on their home courts, and what it will take to advance against a talented Pepperdine squad.

🔼 Bricktown Bound. Baylor softball, seeded eighth, faces top-seeded Texas Tech in the Big 12 Softball Tournament quarterfinals today at 1:30 p.m. Baylor is looking for its first win over Texas Tech in the tournament since 1997. The Bears have shown resilience, winning eight games this season when trailing after the fourth inning.

🔼 Big Contributors. Baylor softball players Brooklyn Carter and Kaygen Marshall received Big 12 postseason honors. Carter was named to the All-Big 12 Defensive Team, while Marshall earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.

🔼 Grinder Mentality. Ty Johnson, a fifth-year senior centerfielder for Baylor, chose baseball over football despite his success as a cornerback in high school. After a successful stint at McLennan Community College, where he helped the team win a region championship and advance to the NJCAA World Series, he transferred to Baylor. Johnson has excelled both on and off the field, earning academic honors and growing in his faith, while also considering a future in coaching or construction management.
