🔼 California Dreamin’. These Bears definitely have some dreams to capture out west.

For the eighth time in the past 10 years, the Baylor women’s golf program is headed back to the NCAA Championships as the Bears officially punched their ticket at the NCAA Regionals in Norman on Wednesday.

With the deck stacked against them due to an injury to Sera Hasegawa, the Bears battled and found a way to become just one of seven programs to earn a ticket to seven of the past eight NCAA Championships.

🔼 Marchin’ On. The Baylor softball squad got offensive in their first round matchup at the Big 12 tournament.

In a back-and-forth battle, the Bears blew the game open in the fifth inning with back-to-back-to-back HRs to earn a 7-3 victory over Kansas and set up a date with top-seeded Texas Tech today in OKC.

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the fifth, Shaylon Govan got the party started with a two-run blast. Turiya Coleman followed with a solo shot of her own and Karynton Dawson kept the party going with another solo shot to cap off the four-run rally and give BU a 7-3 lead.

From there Lillie Walker and Sadie Ross would do the rest, keeping the Jayhawks off the board to seal the victory.

🔼 Twice As Nice. Speaking of going back-to-back, Baylor track & field standout Tiriah Kelley followed suit on Wednesday afternoon with her second consecutive Big 12 Athlete of the Week honor.

Kelley, a junior from Plano, Texas, earned her second weekly honor of the 2025 season after her performance at Texas A&M's Alumni Muster. In the final regular season meet of the outdoor season, Kelley ran a 22.34 (3.5 m/s) mark in the 200m, earning second place.

She now holds the indoor and outdoor 200m BU records in her name and will enter next week’s Big 12 Outdoor Championships with the No. 1 time in the 200m among the Big 12. In the NCAA for the 2025 season, Kelley ranks third.

Kelley has helped the women's track & field squad acquire national attention this season as they currently rank No. 7 in the nation, based on most recent USTFCCCA rankings. In event groups, the Bears 200m group ranks 17th in the NCAA.

🔼 Accolades Aplenty. Before the Baylor softball team had even stepped on the field in OKC on Wednesday, the Bears had already started their hardware haul.

Standouts Presleigh Pilon and Shaylon Govan were named the Big 12 Softball Defensive Player and Scholar Athlete of the Year, respectively, highlighting BU’s selections among the yearly Big 12 accolades announced on Wednesday.

As a unanimous First-Team All-Big 12 honoree as well, Govan was joined by Lillie Walker who picked up second-team honors.
