Baylor football has revealed its 2025 Baylor football season opener vs. Auburn game theme as Blackout on the Brazos, the department announced Monday.

Blackout on the Brazos, a nod to last year's return of the anthracite jersey to the team apparel rotation and a 7 p.m. Friday night kick, reflects the excitement and anticipation for this way-too-early top-25 matchup on Aug. 29 at McLane Stadium.

This week one game will be the first time Baylor hosts a Southeastern Conference opponent as a Big 12 Conference member.

The biggest news story in the college athletics world over
the weekend came when the House Settlement was announced
and the future of college athletics changed.

In an exclusive interview with Baylor+, Voice of the Bears John Morris sat down with Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack B. Rhoades IV to talk about the ruling and the exciting future of Baylor athletics.

🔼 Country Pride. Rising senior Darianna Littlepage-Buggs is trading in her Baylor jersey for a few weeks this summer as she was announced as one of 21 participants in the 2025 USA Basketball Women's AmeriCup Team trials beginning next week at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado.

Littlepage-Buggs, a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American, contributed 13.8 points per game in 28 games with 11 double-doubles in 2024-25. The Oklahoma City, Okla., native posted 19 games with double-digit points, 17 with double-digit rebounds, and put together a 20-point, 20-rebound game against UNLV, the first for a Bear since 2022.

Following the selection of the 2025 USA Women's AmeriCup Team and a training camp in Colorado Springs, the United States will travel to Santiago, Chile, for the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup, set for June 28-July 6.

🔼 On The Move. After two standout seasons with Chieri ’76, former Baylor star Avery Skinner is on the move in Italy.

This week, Skinner signed with Savino Del Bene Volleyball Team in Scandicci, who also play in the CEV Champions League.

When the Bears take the field in week one against Auburn, it will be the first time that Baylor hosts the Tigers since when?
