Baylor Brew 6/3: Don't Call It A Comeback

Former Bear Showing Out For LA Sparks

🐻The Official Daily Newsletter For Baylor Athletics

Good Morning Bear Country. We tried to warn ‘em. We tried to tell them to not count her out.

But guess what, she’s backkkkkkk.

What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🏀 Don’t Call It A Comeback
🎮 They’re In The Game
😎 Future So Bright
🐻 And much, much more!

🎮 THEY’RE IN THE GAME

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Don’t Call It A Comeback. When you’ve been doing it as long as she has, it’s like riding a bike.

Now in her 14th WNBA season, Odyssey Sims showed the entire league she’s still got it, pouring in 32 points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out four assists. It’s the first time in six years that the Baylor legend has scored 30+ points in a WNBA game.

In her 14 seasons, Sims has now scored 30+ points six different times for three different teams.

🔼 Helping Hands. It may be the offseason, but that’s not slowing former Baylor standout Jalen Pitre.

After earning the Houston Texans’ Walter Payton Man of the Award nominee last season, Pitre continued his giving back this past weekend, hosting a youth football camp at his alma mater, Stafford High School.

🔼 Future So Bright. After spending the spring ranked in the top-25 for most of the season, the future of the Baylor women’s tennis continues to get brighter and brighter.

This week, the Bears earned a #11 national ranking for their spring recruiting class, announced by Tennis Recruiting Network.

The class, which includes Mu-Jie Tzeng and Luna Ivkovic, matches 2007 as the highest ranking in program history from TennisRecruiting.net and leads the Big 12 Conference.

🎥 BAYLOR+: ONE MORE LEAP

For Alexis Brown, every jump tells a story.

Of sacrifice, faith, strength, and the quiet moments few ever see. After winning
the NCAA Indoor Championship in long jump, her senior season isn’t just
about medals — it’s about finishing what she started.

This past week, she earned a ticket to Eugene for the NCAA Championships
and the chance to finish off an already historic season. This is more than
a season for Brown though, it’s the culmination of a legacy.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

As we mentioned, Sunday’s performance from Odyssey Sims was the sixth time in her WNBA career that she poured in 30+ points in a game.
