🐻The Official Daily Newsletter For Baylor Athletics
Good Morning Baylor Fam. It was a dream that they’ve had since they were old enough to hold a baseball.
On Monday, that dream became reality for a pair of our own.

⏱️ Countdown to Kickoff
🐻 And much, much more!
⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 4️⃣5️⃣ DAYS
That’s right, we are just 4️⃣5️⃣ days away from kickoff of the 2025 season!

Earning playing time as a true freshman isn’t easy, but that’s exactly what Kyland Reed did last season for the Baylor defense.
Reed, who will be donning # 4️⃣5️⃣ for the Bears this fall, played in nine games last season as a reserve linebacker and on the special teams units.
The Arlington native arrived in Waco after a standout career at Mansfield Summit High School, where he ranked as the 35th-best linebacker in the country.
📈 STOCK UP

🔼 A Call To Remember. It was a Monday that Gabe Craig and Tyriq Kemp won’t ever forget.
The veteran duo for the Baylor baseball squad were each selected on Day Two of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft.
Craig was picked by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round with the 161st overall pick, while Kemp came off the board in the sixth round at pick number 188 to the Kansas City Royals.
The duo becomes the 155th and 156th Bears to be drafted all-time. This marks the sixth time in the last seven seasons that Baylor has had at least one selection in the first six rounds.

🔼 Going Global. The preparation is well on its way as the Bears are just days away from arriving at the World University Games to represent Team USA on the global stage.
This marks the second time in four years that Baylor will represent the red, white and blue with the Bears last representing Team USA in the 2022 GLOBL JAM in Toronto.
Group play is set to begin for Baylor on July 19th vs. India (1 pm CDT), followed by a July 20th matchup vs. Latvia (1 pm CDT) and a July 21st showdown with Romania (10:30 am CDT).
The World University Games are held every two years, and Baylor will become the sixth collegiate program to compete in the World University Games as Team USA, joining Northern Iowa (2007), Kansas (2015), Purdue (2017), Clemson (2019) and Tulane (2023). The Bears were originally selected to play in the 2021 games before they were postponed to 2022.
Team USA has fielded a basketball team in the World University Games every year since 1965. Men's Basketball is one of 18 sports in which America will compete against more than 10,000 athletes from around the globe.
"Having this trip is perfect for a team like us."
