🔼 Havin’ A Blast. Now that’s one way to make an impression on your first day on the job!

VJ Edgecombe announced his presence with authority for the 76ers, notching a double-double in his NBA Summer League debut for Philadelphia against Utah on Saturday night.

🔼 Let’s Launch Some. Speaking of havin’ a blast, rising redshirt junior Travis Sanders of the Baylor baseball program is hoping to do just that later this month at the fourth-annual MLB Home Run Derby X on July 26 at Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express.

Sanders will represent the Bears as a member of the Houston Astros team, headlined by former big-league Gold Glove winner Josh Reddick and former Florida State softball standout and 2018 national champion Elizabeth Mason.

MLB Home Run Derby X is an electric new 3-on-3 baseball format built around power hitting and athletic catching. Each event features four teams, with each team led by an MLB legend. A single game takes 30 minutes; each player gets one at-bat lasting two and a half minutes. During an at-bat, the opposing team is in the outfield. Teams earn offensive points for hitting home runs and defensive points for making catches.

🔼 Four Of A Kind. With the eyes of the tennis world on Wimbledon, four former Bears took to the grass courts in both singles and doubles action.

Constantin Frantzen led the way, reaching the third round in doubles action, marking the second consecutive year that he has reached at least the third round.

Jenson Brooksby, Charlie Broom and John Peers also competed against the world’s best this past week in England.

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 5️⃣3️⃣ DAYS

That’s right, we are just 5️⃣3️⃣ days away from kickoff of the 2025 season!

Wearing #5️⃣3️⃣ this fall for the Bears will be redshirt junior DL Ronnie Mageo.

The Daphne, Ala. native played in four games last year for the Bears after arriving in Waco after two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

This season, Mageo is expected to battle for reps and be a integral part of the defensive line room for BU.
