🎥 BAYLOR+: EXCLUSIVE SITDOWNS

Well, Bear Country, it’s finally here.

Fall camp is officially underway for the Baylor football program and to get y’all ready, Baylor+ has exclusive sitdowns with offensive coordinator and QBs coach Jake Spavital and defensive coordinator Matt Powledge.

Both coaches breaks down their expectations for the upcoming year, talks about how they want their side of the ball to operate and much, much more.

🏈 UNLEASHED

🐻 DOUBLE DOSE OF DUBS

It was a HUGE day for former Bears in Paris with a double dose of Ws and a BIG time performance on the basketball court.

The day started with an 11-kill, five-dig performance from Avery Skinner in a thriller five-set victory for Team USA over Serbia.

Next up, it was the veteran John Peers, who thrilled the Olympic crowd with a 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) quarterfinal win to advance to the semifinals. Its the first time Peers has ever made it this far in men’s doubles action at the Olympics.

Lastly, it was Nuni Omot who dazzled Team USA with a 24-point outing in Sudan’s upset bid that fell short against the Americans.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 30 DAYS

Number of the Day: 30

Last season, it was a variety of Bears who led Baylor defensively
with nine different players racking up 30+ tackles in 2023.

Leading the way was now senior LB Matt Jones, who finished the year
with 82 tackles, including 11.5 TFLs.

🎟 YOU PICK IT!

This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.

The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.

The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games. 

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: RICKY THOMPSON

On this week’s episode, we’re catching up with legendary Baylor
wide receiver and long jump champion Ricky Thompson.

During his time in Waco, Thompson became a 2-sport letter winner, and
was a part of the 1974 “Miracle on the Brazos” Baylor football team.

Now, after a 7-year NFL career, Thompson is entering year 24
as Baylor football’s sideline reporter.

👏 HERE TO STAY

The future just got a little brighter for Baylor women’s basketball.

This week, Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades announced a contract extention with head coach Nicki Collen.
 
Over her three-year span at the helm of the program, the Bears hold a 78-28 record with three trips to the NCAA Tournament, upping BU's fourth-longest active postseason appearance streak in the country to 20. The 2023-24 squad recorded Collen's best finish as head coach in the Big Dance, closing the year with a down-to-the-wire game against USC in the Sweet 16 and the team's 24th-straight campaign with 20-plus wins.
