🎙️ THE SIC ’EM PODCAST

In this episode of The Sic ’Em Podcast, we welcome Baylor Women’s Basketball’s newest addition, standout transfer Taliah Scott. Taliah reflects on her journey to Waco, what drew her to Baylor, and the impact she hopes to make both on and off the court. 🔼 Three Takeaways. Jerry Hill give his three takeaways from this week’s press conference with head coach Dave Aranda as the Bears prepare to host Samford on Saturday!

• Command of the Huddle — Quarterback Sawyer Robertson is the leader this team needs. Coach Aranda said, “Towards the end, I would walk in the offensive huddle, and there’s just a command with him. And it’s just so cool to see.”

• Respect Everyone — Coach Aranda has a lot of respect for Samford head coach Chris Hatcher. Hatcher comes from the Hal Mumme coaching tree that included Mike Leach and former Baylor coach Guy Morriss.

• Under Pressure — Redshirt freshman kicker Connor Hawkins is cool under pressure. He hit the game-winning 27-yard field goal to beat SMU and won multiple Big 12 honors this week.

🔼 Big Goals. Baylor soccer’s Tyler Isgrig was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after recording her fourth career brace in Sunday’s win at Texas State. This is her second conference honor this season.

🔼 Free Fallin’. Baylor softball will play nine fall ball games at Getterman Stadium! The Bears will also play exhibition games at McLennan Community College and Texas A&M. They’ll close the fall slate with the annual Green and Gold Fall World Series Oct. 13-15. All fall games are free and open to the public.

🔼  New Addition. Baylor women’s basketball announced the addition of Juliana Smith as the program’s general manager. She joined Baylor Athletics in July 2023, initially serving as executive senior associate AD for mission impact and enrichment and the sport program administrator for women’s basketball.
