🔼 Another One. Baylor soccer’s Tyler Isgrig was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week! She recorded her fifth career brace in Sunday’s 2-0 shutout win over Abilene Christian.

The Bears will play Texas Tech tomorrow at 7 p.m.

🔼 Three Takeaways. Director of Sports Journalism Jerry Hill gives his three takeaways from Dave Aranda’s weekly press conference:

• Like 50 First Dates: The Bears have had to dip into their depth with some early-season injuries. Baylor used 67 players in the win over Samford, including 12 different Bears catching at least one pass. Coach Aranda said, “It’s kind of like ‘50 First Dates,’ when you’re rolling people through. When you have the same group, that mistake builds a library that they can go back and see.”

• Give Me That Bear Coat: The Baylor defense gets its inspiration from strength coach Vic Viloria’s closet. A bear coat has become the turnover token for takeaways. Kyland Reed, LeVar Thornton, Kaleb Burns, and Micah Gifford took turns putting on that bear coat on Saturday.

• Taking It Outside: Things have changed from last season to this season, including relying on the outside zone. Coach Aranda said, “We’ve had more success with stretch plays and wide zone than we have with inside zone.”
