🏈 HOSEA WHEELER: LIFE & FOOTBALL
From his upbringing to the football field, Hosea Wheeler’s journey has been anything but ordinary. From JUCO to a national championship at Indiana, and now to his final season of college football as a Baylor Bear, Hosea reflects on the people, experiences, and moments that shaped the man he is today.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Three Takeaways. Head football coach Dave Aranda met with media yesterday to discuss the weekend win and look ahead to the Big 12 opener. Here are Jerry Hill’s three takeaways:
Bombs Away — Quarterback Nate Bennett threw touchdown passes of 51, 43, and 36 yards, capitalizing on one-on-one matchups and the defense’s focus on the run game.
They’re Baaaack — Four starters - DJ Lagway, Jadon Porter, Devin Turner, and Logan Moore - are expected to return, with Lagway nearing full strength after working out and feeling good.
Defending The Option — Colorado’s offense, led by first-year coordinator Brennan Marion, utilizes unique back sets and triple-option looks, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. Baylor’s defense must limit the run game and help to prevent big plays.
🔼 Big League Ballpark. Baylor baseball will face Oregon State, Iowa and Oregon during the 2027 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The Bears open against Oregon State on Feb. 26, face Iowa the following day and close the weekend against Oregon on Feb. 28. All three games will stream on FloCollege. The field also includes Arkansas and Oklahoma State, giving fans three full days of high-level college baseball inside the home of the Texas Rangers.
🔼 Hard Hitter. Baylor baseball signed fifth-year senior first baseman and outfielder Todd Hudson to the 2027 roster. He owns a career batting average of .306. He comes to Baylor from Charlotte, where he hit 10 home runs and recorded 43 RBI last season.
🔼 Finished Strong. Baylor women’s golf finished tied for eighth at the Schooner Fall Classic, with a strong final round highlighted by Bridget Boczar’s 5-under 65, including a hole-in-one. Malena Castro also performed well, finishing tied for 14th. The team will next compete at the Tennessee Intercollegiate in Knoxville.
