Ever wondered what happens before the Bears take the field on Saturday? Go behind the scenes with Baylor Equipment Services on Friday morning as they prepare everything the team needs for game day. From gear and equipment to the final details, see the work that goes into making sure everything is ready before the players even arrive at the stadium.

🔼 Special Delivery. Baylor punter Palmer Williams is the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week! The senior averaged a career-best 50.4 yards across seven punts against Colorado, placing four inside the 20 and three inside the five-yard line. He was also named to Ray’s 8 by the Ray Guy Award.
🔼 Three Takeaways. Head football coach Dave Aranda met with media to recap Saturday’s win and look ahead to Arizona State. Here are Jerry Hill’s three takeaways:
Fire And Hunger — Despite some struggles in his return from a sprained ankle, quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to play stronger this week. Coach Aranda believes Lagway will be more comfortable and motivated after his first game back.
Follow The Money — Aranda attributes Baylor’s defensive success to coordinator Joe Klanderman and his staff, highlighting the team’s league-leading 15 sacks. He notes the significant financial investment in both the offense and defense.
Got To Get Healthy — The biggest issue is the offensive line’s inconsistency due to injuries, particularly at right guard, where multiple players have rotated in. The goal is to have the same players consistently practice and execute effectively on Saturdays.
🔼 Closer Mentality. Former Baylor pitcher Zane Carlson didn’t need much time to develop a closer mentality at Baylor. As a freshman in 2000, the “Bulldog” recorded 15 saves, earned National Freshman of the Year honors and helped the Bears win their first Big 12 championship. More than two decades later, Carlson still shares Baylor’s career saves record with 37, and his dominant career on the mound has earned him a spot in the 2026 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame.
