🔼 Honor Roll. Quarterback Sawyer Robertson was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week! He was also named the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8. He accounted for five touchdowns in Baylor’s 45-27 win at Oklahoma State. His fourth-career Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor is the second-most in program history.

🔼 Who We Are. Baylor’s football team showcased its “identity” with a dominant running game, totaling 219 yards on the ground despite injuries to key players. The Bears’ offense, led by quarterback Sawyer Robertson and a strong offensive line, also featured a successful passing game, particularly targeting tight ends for touchdowns. Baylor will face Kansas State next Saturday at McLane Stadium. Read more about Baylor football’s identity.

🔼 Three Takeaways. Jerry Hill gives his three takeaways from this week’s weekly press conference with head coach Dave Aranda:

  • The Bell Cow - Coach Aranda described Bryson Washington as, “kind of our bell cow when he’s out there doing those things,” referring to his physical, downhill running style.

  • Taking The Reins Off - Kansas State let quarterback Avery Johnson loose over the weekend as the Wildcats beat UCF 34-20. Johnson threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns, plus picked up 75 rushing yards. He will be a challenge to deal with this upcoming weekend as the Wildcats come to Baylor.

  • A Deep Room - The Bears have had eight different wide receivers catch passes through the first five games. Josh Cameron leads that room as he is No. 2 in the Big 12 with 407 yards and three touchdowns.
