Good Morning Baylor Fam. While we may have piled up plenty of sweet treats over the weekend, none are as sweet as the memories we have from this Baylor hoops season.

🏀 BAYLOR PROUD

While we know they say that all good things must come to an end, it’s still never easy.

This year’s Baylor’s women’s team gave us memories that will last a lifetime and fought until the very last whistle, giving top-seeded USC all they could handle before falling in Saturday’s Sweet 16 matchup in Portland.

BU legend Sarah Andrews finished her collegiate career with a 17-point performance in the near-upset of the Trojans.

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: KIP WELLS

On this week’s episode we’re joined by Baylor baseball legend Kip Wells

The Texas native Wells played for the Bears for 3 years and accumulated almost 300 strikeouts and a handful of Big-12 postseason awards before going on to be a 1st round pick by the Chicago White Sox in the 1998 MLB Draft.

And now, after a lengthy career in the major leagues, Kip is carrying on his legacy on the diamond by giving back to his community and training young athletes.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Bears > Bearcats. While kids around the world were stockpiling candy this past weekend, the Baylor baseball team was stockpiling runs on the scoreboard at Baylor Ballpark.

BU busted out the offense to the tune of 17 runs in the final two games of the three-game series to win the Big 12 showdown with Cincinnati, taking games two and three by the scores of 8-6 and 9-2.

The Bears pounded out 22 hits in the final two games and got a gem from Collin McKinney to help secure the series victory.

🔺  Just Eggscellent. It was an eggscellent weekend for the 21st-ranked Baylor softball team as they battled their way to the first Big 12 series victory of the season.

A gem from RyLee Crandall in Thursday’s opener set the tone and the Bears fought their way to the series win with a 7-4 victory in the third and final game of the series.

Emily Hott extended her hitting streak to nine straight games, hitting safely in all three contests against the Cyclones, including a two-hit performance in the finale. She also drove in four runs and scored three for the Bears.

🔺  Power Pair. It’s much sweeter than any chocolate treat.

The Baylor equestrian duo of sophomore Lauren Reid and senior Madison Mitchell were named to the All-Big 12 team this past weekend at the Big 12 Championships.

Reid earned the honor in Fences, while Madison was honored as part of the Flat squad.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

In Saturday’s series-clinching win over Cincinnati, Collin McKinney fanned a career-high 10 batters in a personal best 6.1 innings of work.

He became the first the first Bear to fan five consecutive since the team did so on May 14, 2022, at Kansas State.

He is also the second BU hurler to strikeout 10 in a game this season. Who is the other?

🎉 CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES

Long ago, Kool & The Gang taught us to Celebrate Good Times and on Nov. 2nd, Baylor will do exactly that.

A pair of 11-2 and Big 12 Conference Championship teams will be celebrated during the upcoming 2024 Baylor Football season, as the Bears plan to recognize student-athletes from the 2013 and 2014 teams.

On Nov. 2 when Baylor plays TCU at McLane Stadium, the program will commemorate the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Conference Championship teams.
