⬜️ WHITE OUT MCLANE
One of the most special weekends of the year is happening this Saturday.
Sure, we’ll be honoring legends of BU’s past, but we’ll also be saluting the ones who have served or are serving our great country.
This weekend, not only is it a “White Out” at McLane, but Baylor will be posting its Salute to Service when the Cougars of Houston visit town.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Court Scholar. With the hoops season right around the corner, BU’s squads are hard at work preparing for the start of their journeys.
That hard work isn’t just on the court as veteran forward Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua was recognized as the N4A Student-Athlete of the Month.
In an effort to recognize and celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of these individuals, the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) will highlight one or more student-athletes each month for their determination to achieve success regardless of personal, academic, and emotional challenges. These student-athletes are chosen from the pool of applicants for the Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award in the year prior.
On February 4th, 2023, approximately 357 days after Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua suffered a gruesome injury that medical professionals thought he would never recover from. He returned to the court grateful and blessed for the opportunity to play the game at the highest level.
Tchamwa Tchatchoua is projected to finish with over a 3.00 cumulative GPA and was recently admitted to the Baylor University's Graduate School and Department of Public Health. In the Fall 2023 term he is pursuing an Environmental Health Science – Masters in Public Health degree where he will continue to impact the community with his positivity, lively humor, and advocacy.
🔺 Thrice As Nice. Who wouldn’t want to play some golf in Hawaii?
The BU men’s golf team sure showed off how much they enjoyed it, earning a third-place finish at Kapolei Invitational this week.
Senior Trey Bosco earned a top-five finish, while veterans Johnny Keefer and Luke Dossey both finished in the top-10 overall.
As a team, the Bears fired a 47-under, including a 17-under in the final round to finish third behind nationally ranked Loyola Marymount and FGCU.
🔺 Bearing Down. The 8th-ranked BU equestrian team picked up their first win of the season in a narrow raw-score tiebreaker victory over Fresno State on Thursday.
The Bears grabbed an early lead and went on to claim victory, 9-9 (1613.5-1609.5) in the tie-breaker to earn their first overall and Big 12 win of the season.

📞 CALL TO THE HALL
World Series champion Max Muncy and longtime men's basketball analyst Pat Nunley highlight the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame 2023 class that includes eight former student-athletes from six different sports.
Joining Muncy (baseball) and Nunley (men's basketball) in the latest class to be inducted will be J.D. Walton and Ken Quesenberry (football), Tiffany Townsend and Sandy Forsythe Massey (women's track and field), Denes Lukacs (men's tennis) and Stan Curry (men's track and field).
Along one of Waco’s most respected drives, 15 minutes from Baylor, 10 minutes from Ridgewood Country Club and Lake Waco, sits this prominent community focal point.
With over 4800 sf feet in total with a fully equipped guest apartment included, on over an acre and a half - this Waco home is incomparable. Set back on the exceptionally large lot and peeking through hundred-year-old live oak trees, visitors are greeted by a distinguished wrought iron tracery and columns framing a southern French style front porch.
The entire estate has been meticulously restored, including electrical, plumbing, full finish out and more. In any major Texas city, this home would be unattainable and twice the expense. Here in Waco, it is one of the most prestigious and beautiful homes there is.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: The Astrodome.
Some called it the Eighth Wonder of the World, but the Astrodome hosted the Bears in that dominating win back in 1995.
21 years later, it was partially demolished and now stands in the National Register of Historic Places.
🐻 Let’s have a great weekend, y’all!
