🎙 VEGAS RECAP
🟡 THE GOLD STANDARD
It was truly a historic season for Baylor track and field’s Alexis Brown.
The veteran set a new gold standard for the Bears and this week, she achieved something that no BU track and field athlete, man or female, had ever accomplished.
Brown was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-America. She is also the 11th overall track and field athlete and sixth woman in program history to obtain CSC Academic All-America honors.
The Kennedale, Texas, native holds a 3.66 cumulative GPA while obtaining her degree in Health, Kinesiology & Leisure Studies.
🏐 CALIFORNIA LOVE
Another former Bear is joining the professional ranks.
Lauren Harrison, a standout for the BU volleyball program, was inked to a contract with the San Diego Mojo of the Pro Volleyball Federation for the 2025 season.
Harrison was a two-time All-Big 12 First Team honoree in her three seasons with the Green & Gold (2020-2022).
⚽️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 35 DAYS
Number of the Day: 35
The Baylor football team isn’t the only one counting down to kickoff
as the BU futbol squad will be the first set of Bears to debut in 2024-25.
The women’s soccer team is set to return to the pitch in 35 days, the
exact number of points that grad student Ashley Merrill has scored in the
past two seasons for the Green & Gold.
The All-Big 12 performer will be back to lead the Bears into an
exciting new campaign.
🎟 YOU PICK IT!
This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.
The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.
The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games.
🎙 SIC ’EM POD: DAVID MURPHY
On this week’s episode we’re catching up with Baylor
baseball legend and former big leaguer David Murphy.
Murphy had an incredibly successful career in the Green & Gold that
included a 1st team All-American selection, and went on to hear
his name called in the first round in the 2003 MLB draft.
Now, after a long career in the majors, David Murphy
is continuing to pour into the game he loves.
