🔺 Golden (& Green) Bridges. One shot. One opportunity. That’s all you get at your senior season.
For Jalen Bridges, that’s all he’s focused on and he’ll have eyes on him as he leads his nationally-ranked Baylor squad into the upcoming season opener.
This week, the veteran forward was named to the 2024 Julius Erving Award Watch list. The annual award recognizes the best small forward in Division I men's basketball.
Bridges is Baylor's lone returning starter from last year's squad, which amassed a 23-11 (11-7) record. The senior from Fairmont, W.Va., made an instant impact as one of two players to start all 34 games for the Bears a season ago, while leading the team in rebounds (192) and blocks (35).
🔺 Island Queens. Now that, that is the way you close out the fall!
Sure, the scenery and weather was incredible, but the golf was even better!
The Baylor women’s golf squad blistered the course en route to a victory in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted at the Kapolei Golf Course in Hawaii. The Bears posted a 20-under, 19 shots better than the next closest team.
That included a 13-under final round, led by Britta Snyder, who fired a 6-under on the final day to finish in a tie for third at the event.
Senior Rosie Belsham was the star of the trip, firing a 7-under (69-70-70) to win Co-Medalist honors at the event.

The longest running collegiate homecoming celebration in the country is BACK!
An annual celebration that dates back to 1909 will be on display as the Bears host Iowa State in a critical Big 12 showdown at McLane Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
BU (3-4, 2-2 Big 12 Conference) sits in a tie for fifth place in the league standings, and will face Iowa State (4-3, 3-1 Big 12), who is currently in a four-way tie for second.
Baylor is 50-43-4 on Homecoming and have won four straight and 11 of its last 12 Homecoming matchups.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA
Saturday’s showdown at McLane will be the fifth time that Iowa State will be Baylor’s Homecoming opponent.
In those previous four meetings, BU is 3-1 against the Cyclones on Homecoming, including the last date on Homecoming 2013 when the Bears trounced ISU, 71-7 in front of a sold out crowd.
This season, Iowa State will tie Texas Tech for the fourth most common Homecoming opponent.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: TCU.
Baylor have hosted the Horned Frogs 35 times on Homecoming. In fact, TCU was the first-ever Homecoming opponent way back in 1909.
Ironically, TCU has not been a Homecoming opponent of BU since 1995.
