The Provo Sweep

On today’s show we are talking Baylor Baseball who picked a big time sweep out west this weekend and is surging in Big 12 conference play. Plus, we preview this week’s Big 12 Tennis Championships in Oklahoma.

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: BAYLEY HUMPHREY

On this week’s episode we’re joined by Baylor Acrobatics & Tumbling’s Bayley Humphrey.

The senior out of Arizona is one of the premier athletes in her sport, and is enjoying another excellent season with the Bears.

Now, she’s looking forward to capturing another National Championship, and a unique life after college.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Hope We Packed The Brooms. With about a 2.5 hour flight to Provo, we sure hope the Baylor baseball team jammed in a few extra brooms in their bat bags this past weekend.

The Green & Gold continued its red-hot play with its first Big 12 series sweep since 2019, taking all three games at BYU. The Bears have now won eight of their past nine.

Baylor took home victories of 9-2, 8-5 and a wild 18-17 in the series finale.

Pacing the offense once again was junior outfielder Enzo Apodaca, who finished the weekend 9-of-15 with six runs scored and five RBIs. He extended his active hitting streak to 13 games and has 12 multi-hit games this season.

🔺 The Butler Did It. After grinding through the past three NBA seasons with three different teams, former Baylor star Jared Butler has found a groove in Washington.

Averaging a career high with nearly 14 minutes a game, Butler has carved out a role with the Wizards and this past weekend, the former Bear posted his first career NBA double-double, scoring 15 points and dishing out 10 assists against the Chicago Bulls.

🏀 HERE TO STAY

Less than a week into the college hoops offseason, the biggest news came late last week for the Bears.

🎥 BAYLOR+: ON CAMPUS WITH ELLIOT

With spring ball well underway in Waco, Baylor+ is excited to unveil a brand new series that takes BU fans behind the scenes and gives an inside scoop on some of the newest faces in the Baylor football program.

Throughout the next few weeks, former Bear Elliot Coffey will sit down with the newest players and coaches wearing Green & Gold this spring.

Today’s guest?

🎾 HOSTS WITH THE MOST

Everything is bigger in Texas, right?

Even the Championships.

BU received some exciting news on Thursday afternoon as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced that Baylor and SMU will co-host the 2025 and 2026 ITA Division I Men's National Team Indoor Championship, as part of the new format.

The new regional hosting format will see play split between two host schools within 200 miles of each other with the aim of enhancing the in-person viewing experience, the student-athlete experience and the broadcast production throughout the entire event.

🎉 CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES

Long ago, Kool & The Gang taught us to Celebrate Good Times and on Nov. 2nd, Baylor will do exactly that.

A pair of 11-2 and Big 12 Conference Championship teams will be celebrated during the upcoming 2024 Baylor Football season, as the Bears plan to recognize student-athletes from the 2013 and 2014 teams.

On Nov. 2 when Baylor plays TCU at McLane Stadium, the program will commemorate the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Conference Championship teams.
