🔺 Class Acts. Not only is the Baylor women’s hoops squad getting it done on the court, that success carries over to the classroom.

Just a few days after earning a spot in the Sweet 16, two members of the squad, Jana Van Gytenbeek and Jada Walker, earned another honor. The backcourt duo earned recognition as part of the CSC Academic All-District Team.

The College Sports Communications recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's basketball honorees in four divisions.

Van Gytenbeek and Walker are each earning their first-career academic honors for their performances in the classroom as corporate communication majors.

🔺 Ballin’ Out. Another night, another showcase of former Bears in the NBA.

What a night Monday was for two of our favorites.

Jared Butler had a career night to help his Washington Wizards squad to a tight win over the Chicago Bulls. JB had eight points and a career-high 13 assists off the bench for the Wiz Kids.

Playing against one of the league’s best teams, Jeremy Sochan and the Spurs fought their way to victory. Sochan helped lead the way with a huge double-double, finishing with 26 points and 18 rebounds.

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: PAYTON WASHINGTON

On this week’s episode we’re joined by a freshman on Baylor’s Acrobatics and Tumbling team, Payton Washington.

After having an incredible high school career of competitive cheerleading, Baylor A&T was ecstatic to have the Round Rock native coming to campus. But then the unthinkable happened. Payton was shot not once, not twice, but 3 times.

Now, after making a full recovery from the incident, Payton is quickly making a name for herself at the collegiate level, and contributing to the #1 ranked team in the country.

🎉 CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES

Long ago, Kool & The Gang taught us to Celebrate Good Times and on Nov. 2nd, Baylor will do exactly that.

A pair of 11-2 and Big 12 Conference Championship teams will be celebrated during the upcoming 2024 Baylor Football season, as the Bears plan to recognize student-athletes from the 2013 and 2014 teams.

On Nov. 2 when Baylor plays TCU at McLane Stadium, the program will commemorate the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Conference Championship teams.
