The future just got a little brighter for Baylor women’s basketball.

On Tuesday, Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades announced a contract extention with head coach Nicki Collen.
 
Over her three-year span at the helm of the program, the Bears hold a 78-28 record with three trips to the NCAA Tournament, upping BU's fourth-longest active postseason appearance streak in the country to 20. The 2023-24 squad recorded Collen's best finish as head coach in the Big Dance, closing the year with a down-to-the-wire game against USC in the Sweet 16 and the team's 24th-straight campaign with 20-plus wins.

🐎 SAVE THE DATE

Plenty of action at the Willis Family Equestrian Center is on the docket as the Baylor equestrian program unveiled its 2024-25 slate.

The Bears will be in action five times in Waco, in addition to its annual Green & Gold scrimmage, which will kick things off on Sept. 20.

🐻 PASSPORT TO PARIS

And the march continues for former BU standout John Peers, who reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 Olympic men’s doubles competition with a 6-2, 7-5 victory on Tuesday morning.

Today, the Paris action continues for Green & Gold with Avery Skinner and USA Volleyball taking on Serbia this morning at 10 a.m., followed by Nuni Omot and the South Sudan men’s hoops squad hitting the court against USA at 2 p.m.

Baylor scored 31 points en route to a decisive 31-12
Cactus Bowl victory over Boise State at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz.

KD Cannon had a huge day for the Bears, finishing with
14 catches, 226 yards and two TDs.

🎟 YOU PICK IT!

This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.

The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.

The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games. 

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: RICKY THOMPSON

On this week’s episode, we’re catching up with legendary Baylor
wide receiver and long jump champion Ricky Thompson.

During his time in Waco, Thompson became a 2-sport letter winner, and
was a part of the 1974 “Miracle on the Brazos” Baylor football team.

Now, after a 7-year NFL career, Thompson is entering year 24
as Baylor football’s sideline reporter.
