What’s a day in the life of a BU
football star right now?

Spring ball done, but finals and preparation for
the fall season are in full swing.

Jump along for a ride with Caden Jenkins as
he takes us through a day in the life.

On today’s episode, we’re sitting down with one of Baylor’s best golfers in program history, Johnny Keefer.

From the moment he got to Waco, the graduate senior quickly became a staple in Coach McGraw’s lineups, and has continued to climb the all-time program ranks in a number of categories. 

Now, in his 5th year, Johnny is leading a surging Bears team to postseason play.

🔺 Weathering The Storm. Sometimes, it’s all about adjusting on the fly and weathering the storm, literally.

That’s what the Baylor’s men’s golf squad did on Monday as bad weather forced a two-round day, which didn’t get fully completed due to darkness.

BU was one of the nine teams to finish the two rounds and currently sits in fourth place at 11-under.

Johnny Keefer’s six-under in the second round moved him into a tie for second-place, just one shot off the overall leader.

🔺 Boost Up. It’s a new age of college athletics and the Bears are bolstering their stable.

This week, BU unveiled a new NIL unit under the athletics umbrella, tabbing longtime administrator David Kaye to lead the new unit. 
 
Kaye will head up a new arm of Baylor Athletics, which will feature multiple staff members geared at properly supporting the NIL efforts of Baylor's student-athletes and the Baylor-focused collective, GXG. The newly formed area will work in collaboration with the NIL Advisory Council and GXG CEO Jon Passavant. 

The new NIL unit will be housed under Baylor's External Athletics arm, which also features Resource Development, Major Gifts, Ticket Office, Ticket Sales, Communications, Marketing & Fan Engagement, Spirit & Tradition, Creative Services, Licensing and Baylor Sports Properties.

Norchad Omier

Get to know the newest addition to Baylor Men's Basketball,
Norchad Omier.

The first person from Nicaragua to receive a Division I
basketball scholarship, Omier played two seasons with Miami,
helping the Hurricanes to the first Final Four in program history
in 2023. In 2024, he averaged a career-best 17.0 points per game,
along with 10.0 rebounds, earning a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.

This weekend, junior Nathaniel Ezekiel claimed his second Big 12 400m hurdles championship in record-setting fashion.

With an official time of 48.00, Ezekiel set a Big 12, program and Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium record in the event.
