📈 STOCK UP

🔺 What Its Really Like. Competing against the best the country has to offer. Achieving at a high level in the classroom. Staying close in your faith. Managing friendships and relationships.

All at the ages of 18-22.

It’s a life that can be incredibly rewarding, but it also a life that brings forth a lot of challenges that many folks don’t begin to understand.

🔺 Shine Bright Like A Diamond. There’s simply nothing like playing football under the lights. Especially in Texas.

The Bears did exactly that this past Saturday in their first full scrimmage at McLane and to no surprise, it was the playmakers on both sides of the ball that left an impression.

The latest View From The Hill gives us a detailed look at the scrimmage.

🔺 Family Ties. Abram Smith continues to shine during his time in Vikings training camp. Over the weekend, he had a strong showing against the Seahawks in the first preseason game.

On Sunday, he talked with the local media about his journey and I think we’ve heard that quote before….

🏀 ICYMI

🔺 Hoops and History. The BU men’s hoops squad is finishing up their trip in France, playing their second of two games, while also taking in plenty of history along the way.

🔺 Now That’s How You Finish Strong. Baylor’s women’s team wrapped up an unforgettable trip across Italy and Greece over the weekend with a final group dinner before heading back to Waco.

Hoops were played, sights were scene and memories were made.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 18 DAYS

In his first year as the Baylor starting QB Blake Shapen showed flashes of what he could provide the Bears offense.

He threw for nearly 3,000 yards, completed over 63-percent of his passes and tossed for 18 TDs. It was the highest total of passing yards and TDs by a Baylor QB since 2019.

The rising junior has talked a lot this preseason about what he knows he needs to improve and is up for the challenge to help the team succeed.

Check out his interview from Big 12 media day earlier this summer.

⏱ BEAR (COUNT)DOWN

TWO DAYS! That’s right folks.

We are ALMOST at the start of the 2023-2024 Baylor athletic calendar. The Baylor soccer squad kicks things off (literally) when they travel to Oregon to take on the Ducks, this Thursday, August 17th at 7 pm CST.

Two weeks from now, the soccer, volleyball, cross country and football teams are ALL in action. Block off that weekend and make sure you’ve got the Green and Gold ready!

The Bears are coming.

🤔 SIC ’EM TRIVIA

Crown Them. Baylor men’s basketball is one of just six programs with 100+ wins since 2019-20.

Over that stretch, the Bears are 104-24 (.813), which by our count, is pretty good.

During that span, only five other men’s programs in the country have 100+ wins along with Baylor.

How many of those programs have a national title during that stretch as well?

Think you got it?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Two.

In the 100+ wins club since 2019, Baylor is joined by Gonzaga, Liberty, San Diego State, Houston and Kansas.

Only Baylor and Kansas have a national title to their name during that stretch.
