The thrills. The agony. The excitement.

The third-seeded BU men’s hoops team is set to kick off action in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament this week at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. The Bears will await a second round winner that could be Kansas, Cincinnati or West Virginia.

🎙 SIC ‘EM POD: SHAYLON GOVAN

Ever since she started playing softball at 8 years old, Shaylon Govan has always been an underdog.

After major success at her previous school, Govan came to play for Coach Moore at Baylor, and the experience has changed her life.

Now, with a roster full of returners, and a hot start to the season, Shaylon and her team have their goals set high.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 2-For-Tuesday. Mid-week, weekend, home, away, it doesn’t matter, the dominance in the circle is there for the BU softball squad.

The Bears got two gems from Kaci West and Lexi Warncke to propel them to a Tuesday sweep of visiting Lamar, 5-1 and 6-1.

Over the past 10 games, BU hurlers have allowed just 11 runs and struck out 68 opponents.

Offensively, Shaylon Govan had a monster day, finishing 5-for-6 with two RBIs and a run scored.

🔺 They Got Jacked Up. It may not be July 4th, but there were plenty of fireworks at Baylor Ballpark last night.

The BU offense exploded for 17 runs and 17 hits en route to a 17-4 domination of visiting Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday evening. The 17 runs is the most scored by the Bears since 2022.

Senior Harrison Caley was the star of the night with a career-high four hits, including two HRs and seven RBIs, which marked time since 2019 that a BU player drove in seven or more runs.

🔺 Rylee’s Rollin’. The circle has been dominant for the 14th-ranked BU softball squad.

Leading the stable of arms is sophomore RyLee Crandall, who is a perfect 7-0 this spring.

Her performance last week turned heads and earned her Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in her career.

Crandall made three appearances in the circle last week, with a 0.64 ERA. She helped the Bears pick up a midweek win over Sam Houston, pitching 3.0 scoreless innings and only allowing two hits.
