🇧🇸 FLYING THE FLAG
While he hasn’t played a single minute for the Baylor men’s hoops squad yet, incoming freshman VJ Edgecombe is already making a name on the international stage.
This week, Edgecombe was named to the Bahamas National team for the qualifying stage of the 2024 Olympics. He will suit up alongside pros like DeAndre Ayton, Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon… just to name a few.
🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 60 DAYS
Number of the Day: 60.
After wearing #92 for his first four seasons in the NFL, former All-American
and Baylor standout James Lynch is back with the Minnesota Vikings
for 2024 and this time, he’ll be wearing #60.
During his career at BU, Lynch was a two-time All-American, once as a Freshman All-American in 2017 and again in 2019, the same year he was selected in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Vikings.
As a junior, he was named first-team All-Big 12, the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year, the conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous All-America selection after finishing the regular season with 41 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and a conference-high 13.5 sacks along with three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, five passes defended and two blocked kicks.

🎓 RAISING THE BAR
For the past 22 seasons, Joey Scrivano has built a foundation of success with the BU women’s tennis program.
His resume is a mile long, including the winningest coach in program history.
Now, he can add Baylor graduate to that list.
Scrivano walked the stage at Commencement in May after earning his master’s degree in sport pedagogy. For a coach who consistently encourages his players to be lifelong learners, it was a chance to live out what he preaches — and it provided a deeper appreciation for the experience his student-athletes receive at Baylor.
🎙 SIC ’EM POD: AVERY SKINNER
On this week’s episode we are joined by Avery Skinner, a former
Baylor Volleyball star who is set to suit up for Team USA in this
summer’s Paris Olympics.
Avery, the daughter of Baylor basketball legend Brian Skinner, won the
national championship with Kentucky before coming to finish her
collegiate career at her father’s alma mater. Now, after shining in
international play, Skinner is looking to help push Team USA
to a second consecutive gold medal.
🎟 YOU PICK IT!
This week, Baylor Athletics unveiled a new Mini Plan option for the upcoming 2024 Football season.
The new “You Pick It” mini plan offers flexibility and allows fans to build their own mini-plan from three tiers of options to enjoy McLane Stadium this fall.
The Baylor Family can purchase the You Pick It mini plan for $225. Each plan includes the Bears' Homecoming Game on Oct. 26 against Oklahoma State and from there fans can build their plan based on their schedule for the remaining two games.
