🔺  Home Is Where The Heart Is. Today begins a busy home weekend for the Green & Gold with not one, but BOTH diamond Bears in Waco this weekend.

The 21st-ranked softball squad hosts a HUGE Big 12 series with Texas Tech coming to town for a three-game set, while the BU baseball boys step out of conference for a

🔺  Extended Stay. The GOAT is staying in the Valley.

The greatest to ever put on a Baylor women’s basketball jersey is staying with the Phoenix Mercury as Brittney Griner resigned with the WNBA squad that has seen her be a part of nine different WNBA All-Star games.

Entering her 11th season, all with Phoenix, Griner stands as the Mercury’s all-time leading rebounder (2,125) and is second in points (5,038), behind only Diana Taurasi, the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Griner is the Mercury’s all-time leader in blocks (766), double-doubles (64) and field goal percentage (56.0%), ranks third in games (285) and minutes played (8,700) and is fifth in assists (531).

The No. 1 pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft helped lead the Mercury to a 2014 WNBA Championship and has played in the postseason in nine of her 10 seasons, including six WNBA Semifinals and two Finals appearances.

🔺 Not Rooted In Numbers. Sure, we love watching our Bears compete on the field, court, track, diamond and any setting.

But what we really love is seeing our Bears grow into incredible people.

Champions' TriBUne is a special feature that gives the Baylor Family a student-athlete's perspective and the chance for them to share their own story.

The latest edition comes from Elise McGhee, a rising senior on the BU volleyball team from San Antonio, Texas, who is majoring in health science studies. The younger sister of former Baylor All-American Kara McGhee, Elise earned first-team All-Big 12 honors last season.

There are five locally owned and operated Marco's Pizza locations in the Waco area.

🎙 SIC ’EM POD: KIP WELLS

On this week’s episode, we’re joined by Baylor baseball legend Kip Wells

The Texas native Wells played for the Bears for 3 years and accumulated almost 300 strikeouts and a handful of Big-12 postseason awards before going on to be a 1st round pick by the Chicago White Sox in the 1998 MLB Draft.

And now, after a lengthy career in the major leagues, Kip is carrying on his legacy on the diamond by giving back to his community and training young athletes.

🎉 CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES

Long ago, Kool & The Gang taught us to Celebrate Good Times and on Nov. 2nd, Baylor will do exactly that.

A pair of 11-2 and Big 12 Conference Championship teams will be celebrated during the upcoming 2024 Baylor Football season, as the Bears plan to recognize student-athletes from the 2013 and 2014 teams.

On Nov. 2 when Baylor plays TCU at McLane Stadium, the program will commemorate the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Conference Championship teams.
