On today's episode we are giving you an inside look at Baylor Football's second scrimmage of fall camp, including the latest on who is
getting first team snaps and what the starting 11 could look
like on both side of the ball.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Gimme Five. For the second time in the past three years, the Baylor futbol squad lit up the scoreboard for 5+ goals, this time opening up its 2024 slate with decisive 5-2 victory over visiting St. Bonaventure.

Ashley Merrill fired off her first two goals of the year, while the sister act of Hallie and Hannah Augustyn each scored to round out the scoring for the Green & Gold.

🔼 Called To The Hall. Eight former Baylor student-athletes received a call that they’ll never forget recently.

Seven different sports are represented in this year’s 2024 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame class, which includes Odyssey Sims (women’s basketball), Brittney Griner (women’s basketball), Ronnie Allen (track & field), Whitney Canion Reichenstein (softball), Mark Cochran (football), Michael Griffin (baseball), Nina Secerbegovic (women's tennis) and Ekpe Udoh (men's basketball). 
 
The 2024 Hall of Fame banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in the Hurd Welcome Center Grand Ballroom on the Baylor University campus.

The inductees will also be honored on the field at McLane Stadium during the Baylor-TCU football game on Saturday, Nov. 2. 

📞: More On The Incoming Class

🔼 Up To His Old Tricks. Just two years into his NFL career, Jalen Pitre has already put himself on the map with the one of the league’s best young teams in the Texans.

After missing parts of last season with an injury, Pitre is back and fully healthy for Houston. This past weekend, he got back to his old tricks as the former Bear picked off New York’s Daniel Jones for a pick-six in Houston’s preseason game.

In his first two seasons, he has piled up 231 tackles and five INTs.

🔼 Showin’ Out. Each summer, one of the NBA’s best hosts some of the up-and-comers as Damian Lilliard hosts the Formula Zero Elite Camp, which features the best high school and college hoopers across the country.

One of Baylor’s own shined the brightest as incoming freshman VJ Edgecombe was named MVP for his performance this past week.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 12 DAYS

Ok, ok, we bent the rules a bit again, but we wanted to highlight
the 13 rushing TDs that the stable of Baylor running backs piled up in 2023.

What’s even better? All three top returning rushers from last year are back
and ready to find even more paydirt this upcoming fall.

Sunday’s two-goal performance against St. Bonaventure was Merrill’s third multi-goal game as a Bear. She racked up five such outings during her two years at Dallas Baptist.
